Good Morning District 128 Families,
Last night school administrators were made aware of a suspicious male that had approached students while waiting for their bus at the corner of 125th Pl. and Mansfield Ave. yesterday morning. This person was reported having placed his hands on one of our students.
This morning, two administrators and Alsip police were present at this bus stop after hearing reports from several parents about a suspicious male walking the area. After students were picked up for school, this person was identified walking the area by a parent who notified one of our administrators. Alsip police were again called and responded to the report provided by our school administrator and the suspect was questioned. This person is a resident of the area. The responding officers checked his background and having found no previous records, was warned to stay away from the local bus stops and directed to stay away from our children otherwise he would be subject to arrest. We ask that our parents remain observant of any suspicious behavior and please do not hesitate to communicate any concerns.
As always, the safety of our children is our greatest priority.
