On March 10, 2021, the Palos Heights School District 128 Board of Education voted unanimously to extend Superintendent Merryl Brownlow's contract for five more years through June 2026. This will provide the district with stability in leadership for the immediate future.
In response to the opportunity to continue to serve, Dr. Brownlow shared, "I am humbled and privileged to continue to serve the students, staff and community of District 128. The collaboration with the Board of Education and our stakeholder groups has supported our motto, Where Children Come First. I am so proud of what our schools have accomplished over the last year by continuing to provide our students with an in-person learning experience. The strength of the relationships among all stakeholders is what makes District 128 a truly special place. In the words of Helen Keller, Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much. I am excited to watch how our students and staff will continue to learn and grow together as we look to what the future holds."
The Board recognizes Dr. Brownlow's many significant accomplishments since joining District 128 less than two years ago. We feel fortunate to have her leading our team of great administrators, teachers, and staff. We are eager to see what she and her team bring to our students and to the district over these next five years. Please join us in congratulating her on this extension!
